OHM Advisors is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer in Airport projects to join our Transportation growing team! As a community-focused firm with a singular mission of Advancing Communities, you'll play a key role in designing and managing critical infrastructure projects at airports.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading engineering and design efforts for construction plan sets including specifications in accordance with FAA standards and procedures.

Your Primary Focus

  • Provide civil engineering expertise for various airport improvement projects, including runways, taxiways, terminals, and other airfield elements.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, and other engineers to develop cost-effective and constructible designs.
  • Participate in the collection and analysis of data for the preparation of satisfactory airport designs.
  • Perform drainage analysis, pavement design, quantity estimates, QA/QC and other airfield-specific engineering tasks.
  • Organize scheduling of specific assigned tasks and assignments.
  • Provide aid in the development of project scope and budgets.
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, addressing RFI's during construction and attend construction progress meetings as required.
  • Anticipate project issues, including advising the client on alternatives and providing recommendations for solving issues.
  • Stay up to date on the latest Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and design standards.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in airport civil engineering design and construction.
  • Proven experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
  • Excellent understanding of FAA Advisory Circulars and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Process or an ability to obtain Michigan PE License.
  • Desire and ability to maintain strong client relationships.
  • Good organizational skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
