Electronic Wiring Tech Job Description We are hiring an Electro-Mechanical machine builder. The company manufactures machinery to make medical devices. The role involves building control panels for the interior of the machinery. The ideal candidate is a technician with a high degree of problem-solving ability, capable of wiring complex and precision assemblies and complicated machines to build a quality product. The machine has critical electrical specifications and operating relationships with components and completed assemblies, requiring the application of skilled electrical principles and a broad knowledge of electrical techniques. The Electrical Assembly Technician assists with final inspection and testing of machinery to ensure equipment meets performance standards and requirements. Responsibilities Electrical assembly of complex units where a high degree of problem-solving and extreme care, skilled workmanship, and accuracy are required to meet strict inspection, testing, and operating specifications. Position, erect, align, and level electrical wiring, components, electrical panels, and integrate their operations; perform fitting, aligning, and other components incidental to the electrical assembly of the machine. Route, wire, assemble, and install electrical and electronic components in cabinets, electronics enclosures, and on assembled machines to complete functionality of integrated components according to specifications. Read and interpret work orders, schematics, and specifications to determine established electrical assembly methods. Cut wire to specified lengths using wire cutters. Cut plastic sleeves and slip sleeves over wire ends to insulate connections. Crimp terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends using hand or machine crimping devices. Route, comb, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire to terminal points according to layout, using soldering gun and hand tools. Connect wiring to accessories such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, condensers, switches, and install accessory assemblies in electrical or electronic units using soldering gun and hand tools. Conduct functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harnesses, and plugs using ohmmeters, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments. Maintain high attention to detail and self-motivation skills. Essential Skills Wiring Schematic interpretation Electrical principles Blueprint reading Control panel assembly Production troubleshooting Precision assembly 5-10 years of mechanical machine assembly experience Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic computer skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics Basic reading skills and ability to follow directions Must be able to regularly lift 30-50 pounds Ability to perform repetitive tasks and possess manual dexterity to put parts/pieces together quickly and accurately Willingness to work on feet for the majority of the shift No degree required Why Work Here? Work Environment Work individually at a production station as part of a group to perform various operations according to build schedules. The work is conducted on a manufacturing floor, where you will have your own space to assemble. You are required to bring your own tools and work in a Lean Manufacturing Environment. The shift is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with overtime on Saturdays. You will get a 10-minute break and a 30-minute lunch. Currently, there is an additional 5+ hours of overtime weekly. Physical demands include regularly lifting 30-50 pounds, performing repetitive tasks, and standing for the majority of the shift.
