The opportunity:
WSP is currently seeking a motivated Senior Project Manager/Project Engineer to join our Edmonton Municipal Engineering team. Reporting to a Team Lead, this position's responsibilities include working on a wide variety of projects in terms of type and scale including leading municipal water, wastewater, drainage, roadway infrastructure, and site servicing projects for public, private and First Nation clients, including planning, design, and construction administration services. As a key member of the team, you will deal directly with clients, regulatory agencies teams of multidisciplinary technical engineers, junior staff, CAD technicians, and field staff.

What you can expect to do here:
• Work with the Manager and Team Leads to build the existing Municipal Engineering practice in the region;
• Provide mentorship to new and existing junior staff;
• Work with team members to complete, oversee and manage design and project execution for land development and municipal infrastructure projects including: site developments, municipal upgrades. water resources, watermain and sewage collection rehabilitation, road design, etc.;
• Actively participate in the design and provide direction to the design team throughout the design
process;
• Lead a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake major infrastructure projects;
• Liaise with various municipal/utility/approval agencies;
• Be responsible for projects (budgets, schedules, scope) and client communications;
• Apply proven design experience including conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs;
• Lead RFP's, Bid and Proposal documents; and
• Other duties as assigned
What you'll bring to WSP...
• Minimum of 10+ years of municipal infrastructure for Public and Private Sector projects;
• An undergraduate degree or diploma in civil engineering from an accredited institution;
• Professional Engineer or Technologist designation in Alberta;
• A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset;
• Knowledge and application of Transportation standards and guidelines;
• Knowledge and application of Environmental standards and guidelines;
• Project Management experience on municipal and/or private sector projects;
• Experience with sewer, watermain, and road design;
• Familiarity with local planning/approval processes;
• Valid Class 5 Driver's license;
• Experience working with the various Northern Alberta municipalities and First Nations is an asset;
