Overview

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you'll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery a level II neonatal intensive care unit a nationally accredited cancer center comprehensive neurosurgery advanced orthopedic program and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

What is Float Pool? A nursing pool developed by CHI Health for flexible nurses, providing high quality care to patients across multiple nursing departments. Your base rate of pay, merit increases, shift differentials and holiday pay are given in an identical manner as for all core staff. Because this pool is designed to value flexibility, you will earn premium differential pay in addition to normal differential pay.

Compensation : Base rate + shift differential

Incentives: $25,000 sign on bonus; up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years)

Responsibilities

Premium Differential Pay:
  • Earn 20% differential

A campus float pool developed by CHI Health for flexible nurses, providing high quality care to patients across multiple nursing departments. Be rewarded for your flexibility earning premium differentials, while still earning normal shifts differential when working nights & weekends

Additional responsibilities for this health care role include:
  • Monitoring patients' conditions and assessing their needs
  • Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
  • Administering patients' medications and providing treatments according to physicians' orders
  • Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an RN nursing program.
  • Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska or nurse licensure compact.
  • Basic life support(BLS) through American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required within 5 months of hire.
  • Other credentials may be needed based on the level of care RN floated to.
