The Director of Shared Services & Operational Excellence provides support and application of DBS (Danaher Business System), Project Management (PMO), Learning and Development (L&D) and oversight of key shared services functions that span across North American Commercial (NACO) Client Services. The individual will have 4 direct reports and lead initiatives that improve business results in order to meet the requirements of our customers. The position includes chief of staff responsibilities to the NACO Vice President of Client Services leading operational and strategic excellence through devising improvement strategies, coaching department leaders on operational success, analyzing and interpreting results, and proposing recommendations throughout the organization that drive both lean and growth principles. In this role, the individual will also facilitate Kaizens to drive change in a fast paced "ever changing" environment leveraging strong interpersonal, professional, and collaborative skills. The role is responsible for driving learnings and work through others at all levels, utilizing a very "hands on", Gemba based approach to applying and teaching DBS.
The individual will also support the overall Quote to Cash organization within Client Services and work directly with other Commercial partners within; Field Sales, Inside Sales, Finance, Marketing and Service organization leaders to provide improvement, consultation and execution leveraging the Danaher Business System (DBS) model, project management and drive learning and development strategy. The individual will interact with peers, leadership, and field employees on a daily basis, building strong partnerships and support of the NACO contract base.

The salary range for this role is $185,000 - $240,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

Execute the Chief of Staff role for the North America Client Services leadership team:
- Direct the creation of the monthly Operational Reviews for the Client Services leadership team to track progress against the annual objectives and priorities. By utilizing DBS tools such as bowlers for monthly KPI tracking, Action Plan's for monthly deliverable tracking, and PSP forms (Problem Solving Process) for the development & tracking of countermeasures.
- Partner with Client Services leadership to establish priorities and annual associate objectives and cascading processes to ensure objectives support strategic initiatives; Establish improvement strategies for Client Services through partnership with department leaders while supporting focus on the top priorities and objectives.
Lead the NACO Shared Services Functions to advance the organization in:
- Direct oversight of the following shared services functions: Analytics (Informatics), DBS, Project Management (PMO), Learning and Development and Order Management; Senior Leader responsible for the US Call Center for customer ordering while advancing the customer experience through driving innovation and collaboration with other commercial functions and enhancing the our CSAT, NPS and CES capabilities and metrics.
- Partner with Sales, Service, Marketing etc to set the strategy and manage the overall Low Supply process of our products.
Build DBS muscle within the North America Client Services organization to support achieving organizational priorities and associate development.
- Work with and coach Client Services team to install and drive excellent daily management (DM) and problem-solving processes (PSP) to find root cause and countermeasure for driving/delivering growth plans; Utilize a variety of DBS tools (Kaizen, VPM, PSP, Daily Mgm't.), direct the processes (Strat Plan, Policy Deployment, Kaizen, etc.) and translate plans into the necessary tactical actions required to achieve key strategies.
- Directly provide formal and informal DBS training, coaching and mentorship through pursuing certification in DBS tools for yourself and directing/coaching other leaders and associates to do the same.
- Create and facilitate the prioritized cross-functional Kaizen Funnel process to close appropriate KPI gaps or drive top priorities. Coach and ensure vigorous Kaizen funnel development, preparation, execution, and sustainment; Schedule, charter, and facilitate kaizen projects. Ensure effective sustainment of results and support problem solving as needed to close gaps to targets.
The essential requirements for this role are:
- 20 years with bachelor's degree or master's degree with 18+ years' relevant experience (MBA Preferred) plus 6+ years of managing people.
- 5+ years in commercial roles with demonstrated success in process/performance excellence.
- Certified DBSL (Danaher Business System Leader) or similar is required.
- Strong project management experience, and a results driven mindset is required.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Understanding a sales and/or marketing function with the ability to find the right balance between process rigor and creativity.
- Strong People Leader experience with a track record of creating followership and influencing peers.
- Proven ability to facilitate commercial relationships across company functions (Sales, Service, Customers, Client Services) and ability to triage when applicable. Is a sales advocate and partner to internal organizations to understand sales issues.
