Job Description - Senior Accountant

Mission of the Role:

We are looking for an Accounting Senior within Partner Services. The Accounting Senior will be a critical team member and early employee, participating in building a highly scalable, best-in-class finance organization as a key partner with the Apex Group Accounting Team and the regional accounting teams.

The Accounting Senior will be a critical team member within the organization reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Director. He / she will have extensive involvement in establishing accounting controls and policies to support the Company as it grows. The Accounting Senior must have superior organization and communication skills, while maintaining strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. This individual will assist with the monitoring of consolidated month-end close and account reconciliation processes for the regions within the network, working closely with the Financial Reporting Director to ensure financial reporting accuracy and integrity. This role will also provide ad hoc support to the broader accounting regional teams and be heavily involved in the standardization of monthly close and reconciliation processes. The Accounting Senior will be highly involved in understanding regional business processes and process improvement. He / she will also assist with the year-end audit process by providing support as requested. This opportunity offers high visibility in a rapidly growing company and the successful candidate must show great initiative including the ability to work with limited supervision.

The Accounting Senior will assist with execution of month-end journal entries relating to regional activity centralized at Partner Services and to provide support to the Regional Accounting Teams as deemed necessary. This position will report directly to the Financial Reporting Director.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Financial Reporting Director and wider Accounting Regional teams, the Accounting Senior will play a key role in ensuring accurate and auditable financial statements. Job responsibilities include:
  • Monitor the Monday.com Regional Month End Close checklist for compliance with policy
  • Prepares and records monthly journal entries relating to the 9 platforms as part of month-end close, as needed
  • Provides ad hoc regional accounting team support
  • Master the use of Monday.com and FloQast - ensure an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close process, prepare balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis
  • Assist with providing external auditors all requested materials, in conjunction with Financial Reporting Director
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies and implement streamlined procedures
  • Execute the individual and team goals that support strategic and operational initiatives
  • Contribute to team culture

Experience:
  • 3-5 years of prior accounting experience (public accounting preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Proficient computer skills, including the use of MS Office Suite
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Ability to understand and carry out accounting procedures and analysis and prepare work papers
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate accounting and financial information into common language
  • CPA license a plus
  • Experience with Sage Intacct and accounting ERP implementations a plus
  • Extreme formatting, organization and priority setting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and teamwork
