Description
Cadogan Tate Chicago has an exciting position available for a Warehouse Handler. The essential duties of this role are to receive in, locate and process shipments for the Studio department, and release as directed. Handle, pack, condition report art, antiquities and furniture. Assist in the loading and unloading of Cadogan Tate and third-party trucks.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

Key Responsibilities
• Support the Warehouse Team as directed by the Warehouse Manager
• Support Warehouse Manager with managing inventory
• Able to work and communicate effectively with a small crew
• Scan property to ensure accurate inventory locations are always maintained
• Proper handling, of art objects, fragile and artistic material, antique and fine furniture
• Preparation of condition checks and condition reports as needed
• Pack artworks, antiquities and fine furniture for transportation and storage
• Receive and release shipments, maintaining accurate inventory and condition reporting when applicable
• Assist in the loading and unloading of Cadogan Tate and third-party trucks
• Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on every job
General
• Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures, and all other Company policies and procedures in place
• Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures
• To act at all times in the best interests of Cadogan Tate, its customers and its employees

- Some logistical, warehousing and art handling experience, including packing (e.g. Warehouse Associate, Art Packer, Stock / Inventory Associate/ Staff experience is applicable for this position)
- Knowledge of proper inventory management protocol in the warehouse so that when goods are moved for safety the new locations are correctly amended and noted
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Ability to thrive in a busy environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma / GED required
- Some logistical, warehousing and art handling experience, including packing
- A knowledge of storage structure in the warehouse so that when goods are moved for safety the new locations are correctly amended and noted
- Solid problem-solving skills
- Some familiarity with OSHA regulations
- Solid communication and multitasking skills
- Solid organizational and time management skills
- Ability to accurately execute detailed paperwork and condition reporting
- Team player, able to work with all levels of staff in a dynamic environment
- Comfortable in a results-driven workplace
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Experience with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies and other necessary warehouse equipment
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight on a daily basis without damage to object or person, including the ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and reach overhead
