  • Schedule: PRN. Pick up 2 - 24 hour shifts in a 6 week period. Holiday and weekend rotation. Weekend rotation (24 hour shift) Self scheduling. Hourly

  • Practice Detail: Caring for 22 weeks plus infants. Always a neonatologist available within 30 minutes. Well-established Level III NICU facility. Collaborative team-based approach between Neonatologists, part of the group Neworn Care Providers (CP), and Ascension-employed Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.

Responsibilities

Ascension All Saints Hospital is looking for a Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider for our Neonatal Department.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension All Saints Hospital to provide medical services to patients.

Position Highlights:

  • Caring for premature infants.
  • Helps create care plans and navigates care with the nurses.
  • Helps with deliveries.
  • Consults with mothers.
  • Approximately 1300 births a year
  • Average daily census of 5-8 infants.(gets about 10% of hospital births)
  • NICU has seasoned nurses with 40 years of experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or
    job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education:

  • Master's degree of Nursing required.

Additional Preferences

Experienced preferred.

Ability to resuscitate infants, intubate, umbilical lines, and manage a ventilator/oscillator. Chest tubes.

Ability to keep calm under pressure, work independently, problem solve, and think on your feet.
