VP/Derivatives Trader - Fixed Income & Equity

Who You'll Work With:

AB's Fixed Income group is looking for a trader to execute on behalf of an Insurance ALM hedging book. The focus of the role is on execution, investment advice, client service, and relationship management. This is a dynamic role covering multiple asset classes including listed and OTC Fixed Income & Equity derivatives. The trader will serve the client on a dedicated basis while sitting alongside the rest of the fixed income trading desk. The person will partner with the client to provide strategic guidance and thought leadership on hedging strategies and liquidity management. The trader is expected to add value and have high impact on the business, driving improved performance in investment management, execution, and enabling scale as the client's book of business grows.

What You'll Do:

  • Execution of all VA trades for dedicated client portfolio

  • Collaborate with PMs to reduce trading costs

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external parties to deliver investment advice, dynamic trading intelligence, and integrated investment process

  • Enhance proprietary cutting edge OEMS trading technology

  • Partner with internal and external parties to optimize collateral management on derivatives transactions

  • Partner with client group and derivative operations teams to deliver superior client outcomes and experience

  • Partner with the client to prepare for shifts in regulatory or market structure regimes

What We're Looking For:

  • 7+ years professional experience

  • Strong academic credentials, with a Bachelor's degree

  • Deep market structure knowledge in Equities or Fixed Income derivative hedging strategies

  • Experience with ALM hedge accounting and strategies

  • Relationships and experience interacting with sell side trading desks

  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results oriented environment

  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities

  • Strong ownership mindset

  • A self-starter with an attitude and practice of proactive idea generation and continuous review and improvement to our processes

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:

Base Salary Range: $150,000 to $200,000

Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
