The Cloud Replication team is responsible for cutting-edge technologies that enable NetApp’s Data Protection & Data Mobility capabilities. These technologies are designed for container-based (Kubernetes) & virtualized/traditional architectures and also integrated with cloud storage capabilities of leading cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).Job RequirementsAbout Role We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead an exceptionally talented & growing engineering team responsible for driving product development and strategy. As part of the NetApp Research and Development function, the overall focus of the team will be on delivering innovative technologies to address competitive market and customer requirements with enterprise-class product quality and time-to-market. The team will also be responsible for maintenance & enhancements to existing technologies & products.Essential FunctionsManage team/teams of engineers responsible for all phases of software development life cycleDevelop, modify and execute policies & processes that will positively affect immediate operationsEstablish operational objectives & plans for the team and delegate assignmentsDevelop project plans and ensure that project goals are metDevelop proposed budgets and ensure adherence once budget is approvedUtilize previous technical, project management and people management experience to actively lead complex projects requiring local & global collaborationTake responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffingEducationMinimum QualificationsA minimum of 10 years of experience as an individual contributor and a minimum of 5 years as a people manager is required. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master’s Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, critical projects is required.Requirements Strong oral and written communication skills are essentialClear understanding of the product development cycle and project managementExperience with developing budgets and predicting project costsDemonstrated ability to manage professional level employeesAbility to understand and apply new technologiesExperience in hands-on systems software developmentExperience with the systems engineering domain requiring concepts such as computer architecture, operating systems, file systems, networking, algorithms & data structuresExperience in managing software development projects with C/C++ in LINUX/UNIX environmentsExperience with software development in a Kubernetes environments is a plusExperience with storage technologies or cloud technologies is a plusInteractionsThis individual must work effectively with staff to vice president level employees and employees within and outside of their function and organization. Utilizes people skills and available people manager tools to critically impact the growth of an individual within the company and career.This individual must demonstrate favorable results through providing leadership to the function.Compensation The base salary range for this position is $210,000 - $270,000 and will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
