Goldman Sachs has over $2.8 trillion in assets under supervision globally as of December 31, 2023.Business OverviewThe External Investing Group (“XIG”) provides investors with investment and advisory solutions across leading private equity funds, hedge fund managers, real estate managers, public equity strategies, and fixed income strategies. XIG manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. With over 350 professionals across 11 offices around the world, XIG provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs’ market insights and risk management expertise. We extend these global capabilities to the world’s leading sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and family offices, for which we invest or advise on over $300 billion of alternative investments, public equity strategies, and fixed income strategies. ResponsibilitiesDevelop and publish private markets investment research content. Lead cross-collaboration between quantitative teams, deal teams, and sales teams to synthesize insights and key findingsPerform statistical analysis to develop private markets outlook. Integrate outlook into private markets modeling assumptions.Collaborate on the development and continuous evolution of proprietary asset allocation and portfolio construction models.Leverage proprietary data to develop analyses to support data-driven portfolio management, collaborate to develop and refine proprietary models and toolsLead portfolio and risk management strategic initiatives including but not limited to quantitative research and data enhancements QualificationsAt least 7 years of experience in a highly analytical role in asset management or investment banking, with a minimum of 5 years in private marketsStrong working knowledge of private markets asset allocation, portfolio management, and investingStrong writing and oral communication skills, capable of articulating complex findings to a non-technical audience, including senior leadershipDemonstrated expertise in predictive modeling or statistical analysis within the financial sectorExcellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated abilities in research and data visualizationA strategic mindset and leadership capabilities, with a deep interest in investment management and a creative, action-oriented approach to problem-solvingExcellent time, people, and project management skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a global teamAdvanced degree in Finance, Economics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experienceABOUT GOLDMAN SACHSAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
