This firm is currently seeking a full-time, remote Attorney for its Civil Litigation division in the Tampa Bay, FL region.

Only individuals with a valid Florida law license in good standing are currently being considered for this position.

Position Title: Attorney-Civil Litigation (Remote)

Compensation: $120,000+/year commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive Case Management: Oversee all phases of litigation, from initial assessment and pleadings through discovery and final resolution, ensuring strategic, efficient, and effective case progression.
  • Legal Representation: Represent both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of disputes, including but not limited to business litigation, condominium and homeowners' association (COA/HOA) conflicts, construction defect cases, municipal ordinance violations, and landlord/tenant disputes.
  • Strategic Negotiation: Lead extensive settlement negotiations, utilizing advanced strategies and legal insight to secure favorable terms and outcomes for clients.
  • Motions Practice: Handle all aspects of motions practice, demonstrating exceptional legal writing skills and crafting compelling arguments to the court to promote the clients' positions.
  • Court Appearances: Prepare for and attend remote key legal proceedings such as depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Depending on the applicant's location, may be required to attend in person proceedings as necessitated as well.
Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive Litigation Management: At least 3 years of experience in managing all aspects of litigation, from case inception through trial and resolution. This includes experience in handling pleadings, discovery, hearings, depositions, and case strategy development to ensure efficient and effective progression of civil litigation cases.
  • Preferred Experience: While not mandatory, experience in general civil litigation and real estate related cases, including but not limited to COA/HOA disputes, construction defect litigation, breach of contract disputes and landlord/tenant disputes, among other issues, is preferred. This experience is valued for its relevance to the firm's practice areas and the nature of the cases handled.
  • In-depth Knowledge of Florida Civil Procedure: A strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, ensuring compliance and strategic advantage in all phases of litigation.
  • Client Communication and Advocacy: Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients, understanding their needs and objectives, and working closely with them throughout the legal process to ensure their interests are represented fully and effectively.
  • Dispute Resolution Skills: Experience in managing and resolving legal disputes in a variety of settings, including settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. The ability to employ strategic negotiation techniques and legal insight to secure favorable outcomes for clients is critical.
  • Strategic Legal Thinking: Ability to develop and implement case-specific legal strategies tailored to the unique circumstances of each client, ensuring the best possible advocacy and outcomes in both plaintiff and defendant representations across a diverse range of legal disputes.
  • Active Florida Bar Membership: Must possess a current license to practice law in the State of Florida, demonstrating a commitment to upholding the highest standards of legal practice within the jurisdiction.
  • Exceptional Legal Writing and Research: Demonstrated excellence in legal writing and research skills, particularly in a motions-heavy practice. The ability to craft persuasive arguments and motions that effectively communicate the clients' positions is essential.
