Job Description

The Manager, Strategic Development provides modeling, analytical, and presentation development support to strategic initiatives / evaluations undertaken by ABS. The person will support varied and diverse ad hoc strategy-related projects that may relate to products, markets, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, performance, competitor analysis, economic trends, and market opportunities.

What You Will Do:
  • Responsible for directing key aspects of the company's acquisition and business development efforts, including creating strategies and criteria, building relationships, conducting outreach to the target companies, financial analyses, and leading due diligence efforts.
  • Develop an objective, consistent, disciplined approach to evaluating potential acquisitions and business combinations
  • Actively identify and source acquisition targets, including building relationships and building a deal pipeline consistent with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Create a business case and valuation model for each potential transaction.
  • Provide/lead cross-functional diligence activities on potential targets.
  • Identify economic and competitive trends which impact the business.
  • Analyze corporate financial performance and competitive market position on an absolute and relative-to-peers' basis.
  • Assist as necessary with any M&A related activities including company analysis, due diligence, and presentation work necessary to support group recommendations.
  • Conduct external research and develop strategies for identifying and evaluating target markets and companies to support corporate strategy.
  • Perform competitive and value chain analysis by industry and sector.
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field of study.
  • Experience in similar roles, including corporate development, investment banking or private equity specific competencies
  • Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activity, complete deal cycle experience (sourcing to closing).
  • Experience and ability to model and synthesize complex financial analysis, operational, and KPI data into concise presentations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong analytic skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects of varying complexity at one time
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing business environment.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, relationship building skills.
  • Self-motivated, result oriented and able to work independently, as well as cooperatively within a team.
  • Skilled at MS excel, MS powerpoint, and data tools.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to a senior level member of management and may have direct reports.
