Job Summary:
PIC Group has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Instrumentation Controls & Electronics (IC&E) Technician for a combined cycle gas turbine generating station located in New Mexico. The IC&E Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Manager, and is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, repairing and troubleshooting the instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems in the Plant associated with the facilities. The IC&E Technician is a "journeymen" level position, involving subject matter expert level knowledge in instrumentation, controls, low and medium voltage switchgear, transformers, generators, protective relays, and motor control centers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Calibrate, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and install all plant instrumentation, control systems and electrical equipment.
• Perform maintenance on motor control centers, motor operated valves, generators, excitation equipment and motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems, as well as emergency backup systems.
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on DC backup power equipment, process controls, programmable logic controls (PLC) and turbine-control equipment.
• Update and maintain Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record time and material used, problems identified/corrected and further action required to preserve complete history of maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings, for all designated equipment
• Train other team members in the areas of instrumentation, control, and electrical systems.
• Perform equipment and system tagging in accordance with company and plant rules and regulations.
• Participate in small construction projects as required.
• Read and interpret drawings, sketches, prints and specifications as required.
• Order parts as needed to support all site maintenance and repair.
• Schedule, coordinate, monitor and work with contractors on specific tasks as required.
• Ability to locate, troubleshoot, and correct problems with mechanical and electrical system and ancillary equipment.
• Participation in the basic safety processes as a key member of the Site Safety committee, leading monthly safety meetings and having a shared responsibility for the site's overall safety performance.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions as needed.
• Perform plant electrical switching and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) of equipment in accordance with approved procedures and prudent operations and maintenance best practices.
• Develop, implement, and as needed, revise operations and maintenance related procedures to ensure optimal performance of systems.
• Complete other tasks, as assigned by Maintenance Manager.

Job Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience with utility plant mechanical and electrical equipment, including natural gas fired combustion turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), electrical systems, chilled water systems, compressed air, water softeners, AC/DC electrical distribution, control systems, and associated maintenance functions, and emissions control systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical equipment, electronics, schematics, controls, and instrumentation.
• Demonstrated ability to calibrate I&C systems and equipment, including analytic equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to configure and operate various test instruments and equipment to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment including, but not limited to PLC's, variable frequency drives, motor control centers, transformers, and generators.
• Demonstrated experience with Allen Bradley PLC interfaces.
• Experience with MP2 or other Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Physical Requirements:
• Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.
• The frequent use of protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.) may be required.
• The position requires working in different shifts with the possibility of overtime, weekend, and holiday work; as required by schedules, workloads, and Plant conditions.
• Work with hazardous materials may be required.
• All employees will participate in the Fitness-for-Duty Program. This program includes a post- offer physical examination and drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening

Education / Experience:
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Technical school degree is preferred, not required.
• 8+ years of experience in the operation, maintenance and administration of powerhouses, utility systems or similar plant assets.
• Valid state issued driver's license is required.
