The Engineering Manager - Civil/Structural Analysis provides leadership to a diverse technical team of dedicated engineers and scientists. The team is responsible for analyzing structural integrity of nuclear plant buildings in nuclear island, turbine island and the balance of plant. The team works collaboratively both internally and externally with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to successfully deliver Nuclear New Plant Projects for GE Hitachi Nuclear.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and managerial leadership for the development of the team's technical and leadership talent/depth
- Oversee team performance, including hiring, training, mentoring and performance evaluations
- Plan, organize and manage the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables which include building seismic analysis, Soil-Structure Interaction and II/I seismic interaction analysis
- Develop and maintain nuclear civil structural analysis methodologies, procedures, and work instructions
- Update and maintains analysis modeling tools/infrastructure to support analysis functions
- Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders
- Interface with external partners, customers, the NRC or other applicable country specific regulatory agency, as required on technical issues
- Provide guidance and manage internal/external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the GE
- Support GE initiatives, process improvement and simplification
- Support GEH Nuclear Energy quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating and responding to Corrective Actions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related Science or technical discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in technology or engineering role
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience Civil/Structural Analysis in the nuclear industry or equivalent large-scale new build experience in the power industry
Desired Characteristics :
- Masters in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer registration in one or more state
- Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of highly experienced engineers and balance multiple demands and priorities
- High performing energetic leader with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
- Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change management))
- Knowledge of USNRC licensing requirements
- Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
