Your Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will assume the role of a Pre-Start Health and Safety Review Specialist and be responsible for:
- The review of industrial equipment and processes for compliance with current Safety Legislation and Standards including machine guarding, electrical/pneumatics/hydraulics schematics review and on-site equipment review.
- Design and implementation of safety solutions, fee estimating, quotation and report preparation.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Experience in Automation and Instrumentation and Controls would be considered an asset
- You are well versed in computer design tools and design processes and possess a solid working knowledge of the Safety Legislation and Standards.
- You are a self-motivated individual possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and possess the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to conduct on-site reviews of equipment / processes at client facilities is essential.
- Experience in the following fields / subject matters would be considered an asset:
- Industrial Robotics / Automation
- Automated / autonomous industrial vehicles
- Safety-related parts of control systems (SRP/CS) safety standards
- Programmable safety controllers (AB, Siemens, Jokab, Omron)
- Machinery Risk Assessment
- Pre-Start Health and Safety Review (PSHSR / PSR)
- Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) / HAZOP
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's engineering degree in Electrical Engineering
- Eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario, or a Diploma in Electrical Technology and are a Certified Engineering Technologist or eligible to become one.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in safety engineering in an automotive or other manufacturing/industrial role.
