The People Business Partner will develop strong, trusted relationships across the business in support of all talent related activities. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this role will be a strong contributor to building talent practices. Strong alignment with the business objectives is critical to the success of this role. The People Business Partner serves as a consultant to management on people related issues and acts as an employee champion and change agent. This position resides in Austin, Texas on a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • Develop a consultative role with managers in a variety of areas including communications, employee relations, compensation, talent management, resource management, team and individual development, and practice/policy interpretation and application.
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer on creating and proposing projects related to culture, engagement, and inclusion.
  • Create project plans and lead critical projects for the People Team in alignment with the business.
  • Responsible for partnering with business leaders to drive change and execute new business initiatives.
  • Create and analyze trends and metrics in partnership with business leaders and the Chief People Officer to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Lead overall efforts for offboarding of employees including process, metrics and propose actions related to turnover.
  • Partner with Chief People Officer to plan and execute all talent review programs, including 9 Box, Succession planning, talent calibration discussions and employee and leadership development.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed.
  • Provide day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Champion change management initiatives and serve as a role model for change in the organization.
  • As needed, implement corporate training initiatives. Facilitate training sessions.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years professional HR experience required, with an emphasis on business partnerships, employee experience, employee relationships and change management.
  • Strong aptitude for systems and automation.
  • Analytical mindset, with great experience using Excel and metrics in decision making.
  • Knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including compensation, talent acquisition, organizational analysis, employee relations, talent management.
  • Strong knowledge of HR related state and federal laws and regulations (e.g. FMLA, ADA, EEO, etc.).
