Our team is seeking an energetic Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer for our multidisciplinary Process Infrastructure and Design team based in Phoenix, Arizona or Salt Lake City, Utah on a full-time basis. The team you will join will offer interesting diversity of global clients and projects in Environmental Infrastructure facilities, renewable energy, surface and underground mine infrastructure including dewatering, material handling, fuel and lube, maintenance shops, and pumping stations, industrial facilities, landfills and contaminated soil sites.

Your Impact
• Will work under the mentorship and guidance of a Senior Engineer
• Development a variety of I&C design documents such as: design drawings, technical specifications and design basis calculations with a high level of competence and minimal oversight.
• Work efficiently to assure that project schedules and budgets are met.
• Work independently and collaborate in cross-discipline team to meet project goals.
• Compliance with Codes and Standards, governing regulations, industry practices, and internal procedures.
• Develop and perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and technical specifications.
• May have the opportunity to mentor junior team members in technical excellence and career growth.
• Review of instrument and control systems vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, detailers/designers.
• Participate in the development and design review of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Prepare control deliverables such as Control Narratives, Cause and Effect diagrams, System Architecture Diagrams, Instrument
• Location Layouts, Installation Details, Wiring & Interconnection Diagrams, PLC Layouts, and Loop Drawings.
• Prepare I&C lists such as equipment list, IO list, I/O assignment, Instrument Index, Serial Interface list, cable list, etc.
• Perform instrument sizing calculations and selection.
• Preparing Instrumentation Datasheets for instruments and valves.
• Provide configuration of and develop programming for controls equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, DCS Systems, etc.
• Participate in client and project review meetings.
• Prepare technical bid evaluation and attend FAT.
• Collaboration with project management/engineering discipline to develop project budgets, schedule, prepare scoping documents, design criteria and list of project deliverables.
• Promote engineering professionalism and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.
• Will travel to project sites. Approximately 10% travel.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or related field) from ABET accredited program.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
• Basic knowledge of applicable design standards governing corresponding design work, such as API, NFPA, ISA, PIP, IEC, IEEE, ISO, NACE, NESC.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with the team
• Excellent computer skills such as MS Word, Excel and Projects.
• Maintain and update personal knowledge of current industry trends and technology.
• Demonstrate advanced ability to work with others in supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary.
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites. Approximately 10% travel.
• Must pass background check.
