The Decision Sciences division at NBCUniversal Media Group helps drive advanced analytics by building and integrating pragmatic data science principles and products throughout the Company. The division focuses primarily on decision science analyses to support and inform strategy and key business decisions and building advanced data products to help enable more data-enhanced decision making.

This Senior Data Scientist role is dedicated to advancing content value forecasting for Peacock through robust machine learning models and close collaboration with stakeholders. The position plays a pivotal role in aligning NBCUniversal's approach to content valuation across platforms, ensuring consistency and insight-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement state-of-the-art models to forecast content value for Peacock with high accuracy and reliability.
  • Maintain and optimize data pipelines for seamless delivery and integration of content value forecasts.
  • Build trust with stakeholders by understanding their needs and designing solutions that are customized to meet both their immediate priorities and long-term goals
  • Support the unification of NBCUniversal's content valuation by aligning and integrating forecasting methodologies across platforms.
  • Leverage predictive analytics to provide actionable insights that guide strategic content-related decisions.
  • Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive business initiatives.


Qualifications
  • PhD strongly preferred in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (or a Master's degree with significant industry experience).
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in data science, forecasting, or analytics, in addition to a PhD, with a strong focus on machine learning, deep learning, time-series modeling, and predictive analytics.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning models, especially in the context of data analysis and forecasting
  • Proven experience synthesizing complex data, including forecasting outcomes, and presenting clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance and take ownership of high-quality solutions.

  • Strategic thinker capable of linking data science solutions to overarching business objectives, particularly in the context of content value.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability in delivering forecasting solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with cross-functional teams and executives, with an ability to translate forecasting and data science insights into business terms.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a demonstrated aptitude for learning new methods and tools.
  • Experience working with content forecasting in television or streaming services is a plus.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
