Assistant Program Director

Cherokee Nation Management & Consulting (CNMC) is seeking a dedicated Assistant Program Director to join its team in Greensboro, NC. The successful candidate will serve as a second liaison between the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and its regional staff, ensuring compliance with federal requirements. The Assistant Program Director will oversee data collection and evaluation processes, provide accurate data and reports to leadership and ORR, manage staff hiring, training, and evaluation, and ensure the program's fiscal alignment with the budget. The role also involves supervising the referral acceptance and direct intake team, monitoring operational functions, updating policies and procedures, and participating in regional and national meetings.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Assistant Program Director
  • Pay commensurate with experience.

Assistant Program Director Responsibilities Include:
  • Serve as a liaison between ORR and regional staff, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage timely data collection and evaluation in accordance with federal requirements.
  • Provide accurate data and reports to leadership and ORR to support program decision-making.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of staff members.
  • Supervise the referral acceptance and direct intake team, ensuring compliance with ORR requirements.
  • Monitor operational functions and update policies and procedures as needed.
  • Assume fiscal responsibility for the program, ensuring alignment with the budget.
  • Organize and actively participate in regional and national meetings.
  • Conduct periodic case reviews to ensure assessments and recommendations meet program requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Assistant Program Director Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, sociology, or a relevant behavioral science.
  • At least 5 years of progressive employment experience with a social services or childcare agency/organization.
  • Strong administrative capacity with knowledge of child-care programming, family preservation, staff supervision, program development, quality assurance, and evaluation.
  • Experience in senior management, multi-tasking high-priority projects, and at least five years in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in the development, oversight, and management of programs/projects.
  • Demonstrated experience assisting in the management and coordination of programs, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Proven ability to provide leadership support to program teams, assisting in setting goals, priorities, and guiding team members.
  • Experience in overseeing projects and initiatives within the program, ensuring timely completion and alignment with program objectives.
  • Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Deputy Program Director, Program Coordinator, or Program Supervisor
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
