Your Opportunity
Responsibilities will include space planning, design of structured cabling systems, wireless systems, DAS, HCMS and audio/visual systems, pathways, backbone, grounding/ bonding, ISP/OSP, cabinets and racks for healthcare, industrial, institutional, public and private facilities.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and perform Structured Cabling Design such as pre-engagement & post-engagement site visits, customer discovery meetings, on-site assessments, onsite reports, deliverables review, and other field activities as required.
- Serve as technical resource to field personnel and others in assigned work group. Provide technical advice, guidance, training and input to the review and evaluation of performance of work on-site.
- Assist with resource planning, work prioritization and documentation of regional processes and guidelines.
- Liaison and coordinating with external and internal clients to identify business development opportunities.
- Proposal preparation assistance including engineering estimates.
- Prepare engineering reports, specifications, tender and construction drawings and documents.
- Participate in peer design reviews.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Certified BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) strongly preferred.
- Certified BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM) an asset.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, floor plans and Construction/Demolition design drawings of Floor & Main Telecom Rooms, data center and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Thorough knowledge and familiarity with Canadian electrical standards and codes.
- Thorough knowledge of TIA/BICSI standards & best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills required.
- Experience using AutoCAD and Revit an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, IT or technical field is preferred.
- 5 years relevant experience in structured cable systems or similar.
