What we're seeking:
In the role of a Senior Software Engineer specializing in telecommunications, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of sophisticated software applications using Java, Python, Kafka and Ciena Blue Planet Inventory and Provisioning system. Your role is pivotal in driving innovation and excellence within our systems, ensuring high-quality, scalable code that meets industry standards. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, lead and contribute to feature refinements & design and develop User Stories related to GTM features, platform enhancements, Tech debts, Production bugs and testing automation utilities. Experience in Agile methodologies and telecommunications platforms is essential. Bring your leadership skills and 7+ years of software development experience to contribute to our technical roadmap. A degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
In this remote role, you will be expected to collaborate with peers as required but can work anywhere in the contiguous United States. If you are located within a commutable distance to one of our work location HUBs your work schedule will include work from home and assigned days in the office set by your manager.

What you'll do:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications and systems using programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
- Leading technical projects from inception to deployment, including planning, execution, and monitoring
- Mentoring and guiding junior and mid-level developers on best practices for software development
- Working with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, and implement new features
- Contributing to the design and architecture of software applications and systems
- Writing high-quality code that meets industry standards and is maintainable over time
- Developing and executing unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure the quality of software
- Investigating and resolving technical issues that arise during development, testing, and deployment
- Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering
- Participating in agile software development processes, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes, automation, monitoring, and tools
- Collaborating with other senior engineers and architects to define technical strategies and roadmaps

- Salary Range: $88,000 to $177,000

What background you should have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years of experience in software development
- Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
- Expertise in software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum
- Experience with software development tools such as Git, Jira, and Jenkins
- Experience with Ciena Blue Planet BPI/BPMN/MDSO is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements
- Rich prior experience with software development projects
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and services is a plus
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture is a plus
- Strong leadership skills and experience leading technical projects and teams
