About This Role
Established metrology professional. Maintains an ISO 17025 calibration lab. Assists in calibration, maintenance, and repair of a wide range instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and perform calibrations on a variety of sensor technologies used in agency certification testing and new product development.
- Responsible for scheduled and corrective maintenance of systems, instruments, controls, metering, and electrical equipment.
- Inspect, test, calibrate, install, and perform general maintenance on testing monitoring devices.
- Work closely with engineering teams to develop and design innovative solutions for data acquisition and test reliability.
- Develop new procedures and methodology for calibration of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards
- Maintain lab and ISO documentation.
- Lead and or support ISO audits.
- Update standard work documents for new and existing procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement of departmental processes.
- Mentor within the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of on-the-job experience with instrumentation and/or calibration in a lab setting.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or technology or higher.
- Experience with a wide variety of sensors and measurement devices: temperature, humidity, pressure, electrical.
- Able to work with scientific and analytic computer software, voltage and current meters, and electronic probes to diagnose faults in circuitry.
- Adept in using DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, soldering irons, and DC/AC power supplies.
- Knowledge of common analog sensor signals (4-20mA, 0-5V, etc).
- Can troubleshoot and analyze instrument, control, and metering problems and takes appropriate actions to correct deficiencies.
- Can acknowledge when work is beyond ability and recommends the need for outside assistance of vendors, engineering contractors, and consultants, as necessary.
- Proficient mechanical ability to compliment electrical skills.
- Knowledge of instrumentation calibration document management.
- Trained in the use of LOTO, Confined Space Entry, and NFPA 70E procedures.
- Knowledge of HVAC operation is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent critical thinking, technical writing, and verbal communication skills.
- LabView experience is a plus.
- Fluke Met/Cal and Met/Team experience is desired
- ASQ CCT certification is desired
