Senior Paralegal - 112226 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Arconic is currently in search of a Senior Paralegal to join our Legal Team in Pittsburgh, PA. The candidate selected for this role will be a valuable contributing member of the Legal Team reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Employment & Litigation with regular interaction with Arconic's Chief Legal Officer. Primary Responsibilities Legal Project Management: * Work with Finance to manage the Legal Department's budget, forecasting and accrual processes, and regularly update and monitor the budget to effectively control costs and report same to Chief Legal Officer. * Drive the development of monthly and quarterly business metrics, provide operational analysis through reports and dashboards and implement changes to improve performance. * Manage the e-Billing system, and related issues and communications, including the development of new features and capabilities. * Responsible for execution of day-to-day requirements of e-Billing system including but not limited to, timekeeper approvals, onboarding new law firms, new matter set up, and report generation. * Identify and implement Legal Department tools to streamline new or existing practices. * Maintain a contact and responsibility list of all approved outside law firms and serve as the key point-of-contact for Legal Department team members when seeking to engage outside counsel for new matters. * Assist with implementing and managing the Company's records management program and serve as the program administrator, including providing guidance to business teams regarding appropriate maintenance and periodic disposal of business records. * Act as system owner for the Legal Department's SharePoint sites and internal portal sites with respect to forms management, presentations and training materials, preventative law communications, etc. * Support project management on key Legal Department initiatives and projects, including contract management, document management, knowledge management and other areas as needed. * Keep current on latest legal operations industry trends and developments and identify opportunities to implement best practices, including technology that will enhance the legal team's performance. * Other duties as assigned. Corporate Governance: * Assist with the compilation and preparation of materials to be presented at meetings of the Company's Board of Directors. * Support Chief Legal Officer in maintaining up-to-date rosters of Officers and Directors for all legal entities. * Assist with the preparation of Board of Directors meeting minutes and agendas. * Other duties as assigned. Litigation: * Assist with the coordination of service of process, assignment of outside counsel, case and budget management, fact investigations, and discovery preparation. * Assist with the coordination of e-Discovery process, including drafting legal holds, identifying, and interviewing custodians, and review of documents potentially discoverable in litigation. * Assist with the coordination of third-party subpoena responses, including fact investigation with business and resource units, records coordinators, legal department attorneys and others with relevant knowledge. * Assist with the coordination of the Company's quarterly reserves process. * Assist with the coordination of audit letters requested by the Company's outside auditors/accountants, including compilation of materials from the Company's outside counsel. * Responsible for maintaining a litigation database, including opening new and closing resolved matters, tracking case updates, and preparing periodic reports. * Assist with the compilation and preparation of periodic litigation reports, audit materials, Board Reports, and other reporting materials. * Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. * 5 years' minimum experience in a simil r role in an in-house position or a combination of years of experience with some experienced gain in an in-house role and some at a law firm. * Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Preferred Qualifications * Paralegal/Legal Operations certification or degree. * Accounting background beneficial. * Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar tools * Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint * Excellent proofreading skills with an attention to detail. * Experience working with online service providers. * Possesses a high level of integrity. * Excellent communication and organizational skills. * Must be able to handle highly sensitive and confidential issues with discretion. * Ability to develop and write clear and concise processes and procedures. * Identify problems and implement solutions with minimal oversight. * Highly motivated with the ability to collaborate with others.
