Baylor Scott and White Health Specialty Clinic - Killeen Hemingway is seeking an Acute Care General Surgeon to join our Community Surgery Program in Killeen, TX. Candidates must be BC/BE in General Surgery.
We are looking for a committed team player with a favorable work/ training history that is interested in developing and growing a community hospital based acute care general surgery practice. The ideal candidate should be focused on quality, and be able to effectively collaborate with referring physicians, agencies and other professionals to provide outstanding patient care in a community based and resourced hospital setting. This community based surgical practice will have a robust tertiary and quaternary referral center (Baylor Scott & White Healthcare) as a partnership to assist with more advanced, complex and subspecialty care intensive patients.
Position Information:
Option to provide 1 week out of 4 weeks of acute care surgery call at a 0.5 FTE.
Position can be expanded up to 1.0 FTE depending on clinical workload, time investment, and patient care delivery needs.
Level 4 trauma center
Emergency and elective access to operating room and endoscopy suite
Academic affiliation with Baylor College of Medicine
Dedicated same day referral clinic, and follow up clinic to provide continuity of care.

Through various contracts with AdventHealth, Baylor Scott & White Health provides hospitalist, physician, nurse practitioner, and CRNA support to name a few, to help with their staffing needs. In addition, five Baylor Scott & White Health clinics including three care clinics, a specialty clinic, and McLane Childrens Scott & White Clinic - Killeen provide physician services to patients in the Killeen community.

Qualifications:
- MD/DO degree
- Board Certification or Board Eligible by the American Board of Surgery or Osteopathic Board Certification
- Texas Medical License
- Fellow of the American College of Surgeons when qualified
- ACLS and ATLS
- Experience acute care general surgery and community-based trauma surgery care is valuable and expected.
- Endoscopy experience is encouraged and desired.
