RWJBarnabas Healththe largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, is seeking a board-certified/eligible Intensivist to join our team as a full-time Attending, working a hybrid day/night model at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway!

RWJUH-Rahway has been the trusted healthcare facility for patients and families in Union County and beyond. Located in Rahway, this 265-bed fully accredited acute care community hospital provides comprehensive care services, including various imaging services, diagnostic testing, emergency care, advanced surgical treatments, wound care center, and more.

ABOUT POSITION:

  • Care provided in an exclusively inpatient setting collaborative, closed model ICU (15-bed Adult Medical and Surgical ICU) and 4 bed closed model IMCU (intermediate care unit)
  • Management of all hospital emergencies, including RRTs, codes, and procedures
  • 7 on-7off Schedule
  • Average Patient Census is 12 to 14

This is an excellent opportunity for an eager physician to join a well-established, multidisciplinary team that aims to provide high-level care at a community hospital and become a part of the Critical Care Service Line at RWJBarnabas Health.  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BC/BE in Critical Care Medicine
  • Well-versed in critical care procedures
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of New Jersey
  • A team player comfortable working in collaborative efforts with other physicians

About Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - Rahway

Founded in 1917, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway provides healthcare services that help our patients get better and stay better.

RWJUH Rahway is unique in the region in that its an acute care hospital that is also home to a long-term acute care hospital and a rehabilitation unit, nestled in a residential setting.

RWJUH Rahways Emergency Department cares for more than 32,000 patients per year, and provides care for life-threatening conditions such as heart attack and stroke. For those needing rehabilitation after an acute care stay, the campus is home to Care Connection, a 24-bed licensed sub-acute rehab unit owned and operated by Alaris Health.

Also on the campus is Kindred Hospital New Jersey, a 34-bed long-term, acute care hospital for ventilator weaning and medically complex patients who need specialized treatment for extended periods of time.

The hospital provides a wide range of cardiac testing and extensive catheterization services, including cardiac catheterization, emergency angioplasty and pacemaker insertion. For emergency angioplasty, our average door-to-balloon time is well under 90 minutes. For those with chronic heart and lung disease, the hospital provides cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs that help build strength and stamina in patients weakened by their disease.

Our physical, occupational and speech staff help with recovery from illness or injury and provide therapy for those with neurological conditions, such as Parkinsons disease. The rehab department at the hospital and satellite facilities in Scotch Plains and Carteret provide extensive therapeutic services, including peripheral neuropathy therapy, concussion therapy, and pelvic floor and incontinence therapy.

The hospital has extensive outpatient diagnostic and lab services, as well as a surgical weight loss program that is a Center of Excellence. The hospitals bariatric program is life-changing. The specialized care offered for our patients at the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine heals wounds faster than the national average.

The hospital runs a sleep lab that can detect sleep problems. Its Diabetes program, certified by the American Diabetes Association, helps diabetics gain control of their blood sugar. The hospitals community education department provides screenings, support groups, healthy cooking, and health-related demonstrations at its fitness centers and in the community with the focus on staying healthy together.
