Cookeville is centrally located between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga. Regional Medical Center is a city owned nonprofit hospital with a 350,000-catchment area. The medical center is a primary stroke center, serving a mix of general neurology, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke, brain injury and ALS patients. There is also an opportunity to conduct sleep studies if interested. Full-service regional hub providing most surgical services, including Neurosurgery.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
- Only Work 17 1/2 weeks per year
- Join Two Other Neuro-Hospitalists
- 1 Week On, 2 Weeks Off
- Typical Day on site is from 7:00A -6:00P
- Call is mostly patients already in house or new admits
- No overnight ED call. Covered by Vanderbilt Tele-Neurology
- Average of five to seven new consults per day & 9-10 follow up consults
- Trauma transferred to Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville
- Primary Stoke Center
- Hospital EMR is Paragon
- ED census of 53,000 per year
- State-of-the-art neuro- imaging capabilities (MRI, CT, CTA, Nuclear Camera & PET), evoked potentials diagnostics, EEG & EMG
