Warehouse Shift Supervisor

SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Shift Supervisor oversees the daily activities of warehouse operations and staff under the direction of the Warehouse Foreman/Manager. Coordinate and receive transfer products coming from offsite warehouses, North American satellite plants and SNF plants around the world. Process customer-returned goods; load and unload trucks, move blend products from warehouse to plants and pick-up finished goods to transport from plants to the warehouse. Perform finished goods inventory and coordinate the movement of customer orders from warehouse to shipping. The supervisor monitors operations for efficiency, quality and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met. The supervisor also develops production schedules to meet internal goals, corporate goals and to meet or exceed customer expectations. The supervisor is also responsible to direct warehouse staff in activities that include hiring, training and required day to day management of personnel and product movement.
This is a rotating shift position. Salary is based on qualifications and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure timely and damage free loading of product coming to the warehouse for shipping.
- Supervise operators who load/unload trucks, handle inventory, and move and store finished product.
- Plan and schedule work assignments according to warehouse work load, priorities and projects.
- Maximize warehouse storage capacity while meeting inventory blend delivery schedules.
- Ensure that all work is performed according to procedures, standards, and specifications of the company and customers.
- Champion LEAN and deploy LEAN Manufacturing Principles across warehouse operations.
- Train employees to perform job duties accurately, efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate maintenance services for all warehouse material handling equipment.
- Provide a clean and safe working environment for all personnel.
- Assist warehouse Foreman by identifying and creating work procedures, preparing work schedules, and expediting work flow.
- Assist employees with warehouse, material logistics and supply chain problems.
- Follow up on complaints.
- Investigate and properly respond to and document all incidents in a timely manner.

- Participate in and lead continuous improvement efforts sitewide.
- Attend and actively participate in all safety and production meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business is required; Logistics or Supply Chain is preferred.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in warehouse operations and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with warehousing, logistics, and supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Able to suggest and implement best practices for continuous improvement.
- Advanced experience usingERP, WMS, bar-code, and RF scanning systems.
- Ability to perform various complicated tasks with keen attention to detail and results.
- Creativity, ability to multi-task, and self-direction are required.
- Possess a proven track record of focusing on safety, quality, production, and environmental concerns.
- Superior communication skills both verbal & written.
- Ability to motivate, organize, and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to address issues, follow up, and implement solutions as required.
- Experience working in a union environment is a plus.
