GENERAL CAFETERIA WORKER
AT
ELI TERRY JR. MIDDLE SCHOOL

Reports to: Eli Terry Jr. Middle School Lead Cook

Job Purpose: To prepare and present nutritious lunches throughout the school year. Also, after
Lunch has concluded to assist in kitchen clean-up.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing daily lunches.
  • Learn the various food stations and methods of display.
  • Help maintain clean kitchen.
  • Notify the Lead Cook of any equipment in need of maintenance or repairs.
  • Develop a knowledge of State regulations.
  • Learn the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, as necessary.
These statements describe the essential responsibilities of the job; other duties not described here may be assigned as needed. Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • High School and one-year previous related experience in school food service preferred.
  • Serve Safe certification with appropriate experience and training (preferred).
  • Familiarity with various point of sale systems (preferred).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and co-workers.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies.

BEGINNING DATE: To Be Determined

HOURS: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m./5 days per week/20 hurs per week ( Monday - Friday)

SALARY: $16.40 per hour
