This role targets a Principal or Senior Principal level and must be located within a commutable distance of one of our Chicagoland offices.

What You'll Do
  • Apply fundamental and advanced quantitative methods, including machine learning and statistical modeling, to solve complex business problems and enable data-driven decision making (e.g., build statistical and machine learning models for trend analysis and forecasting to predict future business outcomes for a Fortune 100 company).
  • Keep knowledgeable of advancements in generative AI and understanding different models and their applications. Recognizing how generative AI can securely and ethically fulfill business demands, identify gaps, or pioneer new innovations.
  • Efficiently synthesize large volumes of data, extracting meaningful insights in a structured and programmatic manner.
  • Create effective data visualizations to simplify and clarify complex data patterns and trends and explain these complex concepts and business value to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work with a team of data professionals to integrate diverse data sources, establishing a comprehensive and unified view of the client's data landscape.
  • Lead and participate in solutioning sessions, working hand-in-hand with business/client, translating business objectives into actionable machine learning/data science use case.
  • In a team environment, impact $1M - $2.5M in sales revenue specific to AI/ML pursuits through translation of business objectives into data science/ machine learning use case (i.e., solutioning).


What You'll Bring
  • Experienced in designing the overarching GenAI system architecture, ensuring optimal retrieval, augmentation, and generation processes align with the RAG pattern or other patterns (e.g. agentic) as well as business objective.
  • Hands-on ability to implement generative AI use cases using established and emerging architecture patterns. Experience implementing a Retrieval Augmentation Generation (RAG) pattern inclusive of optimizing text loading, chunking, extraction, and search/response retrieval.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and experience with libraries/frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn.
  • Experience with cloud and modern data science tools and platforms such as Databricks MLFlow, GCP BigQuery, AWS SageMaker, Kubeflow, and Azure ML/ Azure AI Studio.
  • Experience building end-to-end data science solutions, including operationalizing ML models.
  • Preferred but not required: Prior formal experience in a leadership role. The ability to guide and manage a team effectively would be highly advantageous.
