The Director of Operations, Design/AV Grfx (Director of Ops) will report to the President of Entertainment and will help facilitate the seamless workflow and timely delivery of assets on graphics projects from conception to final execution. This role will collaborate with the VP, Creative Director (CD) to manage workflows/processes and resourcing. The Director of Ops with also work closely with the AV Producing & Editorial teams as well as Finishing to ensure quick and efficient delivery of AV Grfx assets as well as cross-department collaboration where needed. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping creatives realize their vision, overseeing and simplifying production processes, developing and implementing processes, and helping others develop their skills.

Annual Salary: $155,000.00-$170,000.00
The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience and geographic location. Total compensation package will also include other elements, including paid time off, subsidized health insurance (medical, dental, vision) and 401(k) participation plus company match.

The ideal candidate is passionate about helping creatives realize their vision, overseeing and simplifying production processes, developing and implementing processes, and helping others develop their skills.
Responsibilities:
- Support our AV Grfx team across all aspects of production, helping them solve problems and produce high-level work on-budget and on-schedule according to defined scope, timeline and cost parameters.
- Build and strengthen relationships with creative team, and work with CD to ensuring they have the talent needed to deliver exemplary work
- Build and strengthen inter-department relationships.
- Assist in budget creation/schedules and make sure projects stay on budget.
- Facilitate the creative feedback and approval processes of outside production companies and freelance producers.
- Manage and mentor junior production
- Communicate with clients when needed to help maintain strong relationships
- Manage our Resource Manager, ensuring the best and most appropriate artists are booked or holding to staff projects accordingly. Anticipate resource conflicts and provide thoughtful solutions and options.
- Interface with Coordinator to organize production tasks and work orders, daily.
- Maintain server infrastructure and collaborate with team for improvements (including management & naming conventions)
- Work alongside creative teams, producers, and coordinators daily to assist with any workflow issues that may arise.
- Build a culture within production that welcomes fluid conversation across the team and provides opportunities for growth
- Participate in weekly Executive & Finishing Team check-ins, AV Production Meeting and bi-weekly Finish Prep meetings.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Candidate is required to work from LA office twice per week (Tuesday and Thursday)
- Eight years of experience managing teams for motion graphics, VFX, CG and mixed media work
- Experience building and managing production departments of both staff and freelance hires
- Ability to enforce deadlines and adhere to schedules while still facilitating the creative process
- Must be self-motivated and proactive.
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality control
- Excited about working and learning in a collaborative and creative environment
- Ability to anticipate problems before they arise and devise realistic solutions to mitigate them
- Proven ability to meet the creative challenges associated with producing exceptional work while satisfying the demands of clients
- Must possess strong interpersonal relationship skills, work organization, professionalism, initiative, and flexibility.
- Must possess strong time management skills and can juggle multiple tasks/projects/situations at one time.
- Extensive experience managing artist in post workflows and software: 2D, 3D, live action / VFX integration, After Effects, Maya, Nuke, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Premier, and Flame (an ability to operate these software packages is NOT required)
- Working knowledge of multiple graphic file formats (including TIFF, JPG, GIF and PNG) is preferred.
- Working knowledge of multiple video formats (including HD and 4K) is preferred.
