What will you do?

As Building Automation Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing product strategies that enhance our position in the building automation market. This role requires a deep understanding of building automation systems including Hardware and Software, market trends, and customer needs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in product management within the building automation industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Market Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive dynamics specific to building automation solutions.
  • Analyze data to derive insights and inform product positioning and marketing strategies.
  • Anticipate upcoming changes within the industry and making adapt product strategy / recommendations to benefit from such changes

Product Development and Roadmap:
  • Define product requirements and specifications in collaboration with engineering and design teams.
  • Collaborate with HQ to identify and prioritize building automation products for the Canadian market.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that align with company goals and market demands.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring timely and successful product releases.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all product-related inquiries and issues during the rollout process.

Product Positioning and Messaging:
  • Develop clear and compelling product positioning and messaging that differentiates our building automation solutions in the market.
  • Create and maintain product value propositions and key messaging documents.
  • Determine product pricing and recommended pricing policies based on established gross margin objectives

Go-to-Market Strategy:
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches and feature releases.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations and marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure successful product launches via seminars, workshops, others

Sales Enablement:
  • Develop and deliver sales collaterals, training materials and tools to enable the sales team to effectively sell our building automation solutions.
  • Provide ongoing support to the sales team with product-related information and competitive insights.
  • Customer Engagement:
  • Develop and execute customer engagement strategies to build strong relationships and drive customer loyalty.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product improvements and marketing strategies.

Technical Expertise:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on building automation technologies and solutions.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and emerging technologies to provide guidance and support to internal teams.
  • Work closely with HQ to understand the technical specifications and features of products, ensuring the knowledge is disseminated throughout the organization. Inform product development and innovation.

What will you need to succeed?
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, or equivalent experience in related field.
  • 5+ years of experience within the building automation industry.
  • 2+ years proven track record of successfully launching and managing building automation products/solutions
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency in product management software and tools
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset
