Business Applications Analyst

Are you a technical resource with a passion for finding ways to improve systems? The Business Applications Analyst will be responsible for partnering with our National Accounts, Sales Operations, and Sales teams to solve our most complicated business problems and to help our teams be more productive and proactive.

This role will use creativity, know-how, and analytical skills to understand and streamline business processes, simplify user experience, and support user needs by defining and executing systems changes. In addition, this resource will be instrumental in encouraging consistent process execution and creating divisional best practices that will be used across all markets. This role will serve as Subject Matter Expert for our primary AS400 ERP as well as other systems related to National Accounts, Sales Operations, and Sales.

This role sits within the Distribution Division of Bunzl North America. Distribution is Bunzl's largest division, representing most our North American revenue. The Distribution division operates across the United States and serves customers in a variety of industries, including grocery, redistribution, food processor, and retail.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and expertise for functional teams on the AS400 ERP
  • Partner with functional leadership to standardize processes and tailor the AS400 or other third-party systems to work effectively with relevant business processes. Must be able to take a concept and drive it to a practical, usable solution
  • Review user requests for systems changes and align them with business priorities
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams, including the Application Development team, to provide requirements and analysis for programming new solutions
  • Ensure that applications comply with security and legal requirements
  • Develop support and training programs for functional team users
  • Support new customer onboarding and business integration projects as needed by identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Review business processes on a regular basis to identify pain points and improvements
  • Partner with other IT and functional teams, including warehouse operations, procurement, category management, and infrastructure, to develop holistic processes for users


Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Four-year degree in a related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with ERP systems (AS400 or other), BI technologies, MS Office and other systems in use, such as Trilogix or Microsoft Dynamics CRM software, Power BI
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong sense of ownership and follow up
  • Strong professional presence and proven ability to influence through communication
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Experience with business process design concepts or lean six sigma is preferred
  • Project management skills/experience are preferred
  • Understanding of no/low code solutions such as MS Power Apps is preferred
  • Ability to travel 25%
