We currently have an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced Controller. This newly created position will lead and manage the accounting operations and provide leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives for our growing organization.
Salary Range: $100,000-130,000
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ensure that all financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and that proper internal controls are in place to support the integrity of the financial activity
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide perspective on causes and recommendations.
- Lead accounting staff through annual audit, acting as primary liaison with the external auditors.
- Conduct financial analysis to support program planning and evaluation.
- Monitor and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare financial forecasts and analyze variances to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitors fiscal compliance with internal grants processes, federal, state, and specific grants funding agency regulations
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department directors.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and non-profit financial management standards.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
- Providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support the organization's strategic goals.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and presentation to the executive team and board of directors.
- Support grant reporting and related audits, negotiations and compliance issues.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develops and/or enhances, implements, and enforces policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
- Collaborate with program managers and other departments to support financial literacy and accountability.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field. Master's degree and/or CPA preferred.
- 8+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
- Non-Profit or healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
