Job description: Work closely with upper management in organizing and overseeing the maintenance department Prepare the weekly schedule. Ensure crews are organized (knowing their daily schedule, having correct tools for jobs etc.) Ensure crews are leaving the yard in a timely manner every morning. Monitoring crews (clock in) times in the mornings and (clock out) times in the evenings. Ensure all job sheets are filled in by the crew leader at the end of each day and all information is included i.e. material used, hours worked on the property. Specify if the job is per contract or extra to contract. With assistance - Making sure all containers and gates in the maintenance yard are locked and secure in the evenings. Coordinate the closing of the main gate with the landscape department. Monitoring crews and ensure work is performed in a professional and timely manner. Monitoring of client's irrigation systems and inform irrigation manager of any issues. Visit properties on a weekly basis to ensure the quality of maintenance is kept to Summerhill standards. Report any issues to upper management. Attend client meetings with upper management. Coordinate & ensure with other supervisors and managers that duties are fulfilled if either is not present. Keep a daily journal and prepare a weekly report, email to senior management a report with details such as crews performance/issues, property/client meetings, ideas & suggestions for any improvements that could make the dept. more efficient and effective. Prepare safely notes to hand out to crews and schedule a meeting to go through Ensuring all maintenance vehicles have sufficient fuel for the day when leaving the yard. Ensure all gas cans are full. Monitoring all maintenance vehicles and complete vehicle checklist weekly Check vehicles to ensure crews are keeping them clean and free of garbage. Coordinate the maintenance & repair of maintenance vehicles and equipment. Ensure safety equipment is maintained to a high standard and made available to staff. Keep the inventory of all maintenance power tools & hand tools. Report all broken tools. Fix or repair where possible. Assist with ordering maintenance supplies. If necessary performing odd/small jobs with a crew such as sod, planting. Preferred Experience: 1-2 years of horticultural experience Bachelors degree in a related field Bilingual Job Type: Full-time
