Job Summary: 11Alive/WXIA-TV, a TEGNA company, has an immediate opening for a Creative Director. The ideal candidate is passionate about elevating the quality of local media marketing and thrives off creating big ideas that are on-brief and align with strategic brand goals. If you're ready for an exciting opportunity to make an impact, this is your role! This position reports to 11Alive's Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of marketing and commercial producers to develop multi-platform campaigns for broadcast, digital, social, out-of-home, and connected TV.
  • Develop creative strategies (using audience research, insights, and your expertise) that cut through the clutter, drive awareness, and grow audience and revenue shares.
  • Oversee all aspects of creative planning, development, and execution: project briefs, scripts, storyboards, production shoots, editing, and graphics.
  • Foster a positive environment that encourages brainstorming and great ideas to flourish.
  • Produce and write concepts and scripts. Video editing and graphics/animation skills are a plus.
  • Collaborate with the director of marketing on station and community events.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in local media, corporate marketing, or at a creative agency.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative skills and work experience in a similar role.
  • Skilled marketing storyteller who uses copy, video, sound, and graphics to convey a clear, compelling, and consistent message.
  • Creative problem-solver who can think on your feet, adapt to last-minute changes and understand that each project can have multiple paths for success.
  • Demonstrate an openness to receiving and applying constructive feedback to improve creative and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships, communicate, and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter who can deliver high-level results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable working in the office and putting in non-traditional hours as needed.

TEGNA's Paid Time Off (PTO) program begins with 15 days of PTO for full-time employees, and nine paid holidays.
