Scopely is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our Tax Team on a hybrid basis out of our Culver City, CA office
The Senior Tax Analyst will support the Senior Tax Manager and VP, Global Tax on all aspects of Scopely's domestic and international tax planning, strategy, compliance, reporting, and risk management. This is a key role in helping to shape the future tax team

What We're Looking For
For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $98,500 - $140,350, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Will Do
- Be a contributor on day one in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Prepare the quarterly and year-end income tax provision calculations and footnote disclosures in accordance with ASC740 guidance
- Prepare tax return workpapers for federal and state corporate income tax filings
- Manage and partner closely with external resources in the preparation and review of federal, multi-state, and international tax returns and filings.
- Prepare quarterly tax estimates and ensure timely filing of payments
- Prepare quarterly tax account reconciliations
- Prepare indirect tax filings such as city tax, gross receipts, sales tax, property tax. Collaborate with foreign offices to support foreign indirect filings
- Evaluate, build, and maintain appropriate documentation for tax positions
- Monitor nexus and manage taxability across jurisdictions for various lines of business
- Monitor and research tax issues across jurisdictions. Assess implications of tax legislative changes and US GAAP and IFRS accounting concepts. Recommend and implement tax strategies to minimize cash tax and risk.
- Assist with tax forecasting and cash tax planning
- Manage R&D tax credit study and other tax incentives projects and filings
- Serve as a strong tax partner to the business in driving improvement. Work with other groups to obtain accurate and complete information for tax compliance and planning
- Assist in developing processes to streamline the tax function and aim for efficiency, automation, and high-quality output
- Assist in evaluating and implementing solutions to key initiatives, M&A, ad hoc projects to support business expansion
What We're Looking For
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Tax
- CPA, or equivalent, is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of income tax experience, with strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 income tax provision and compliance issues related to multinational companies
- Combination of Big 4 experience and industry highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Oracle ERP, OneSource, and Corptax a plus
- Proficiency with CCH, RIA, and other tax research tools
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment as well as function with independent responsibilities
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility
- Ability to research, analyze and understand complex issues
- Commitment to self-improvement, organization, and process improvement
- Ability to demonstrate consistent attention to detail and have a high level of accuracy
- Regular, reliable, and predictable performance required
- Resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities
- A desire to take on challenges and grow with the role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Gaming industry experience is a plus
