  • Leads and manages the finance team as assigned; this may include involvement with staff hiring, onboarding and orienting new employees.
  • Responsible for implementing processes to ensure compliance with internal policy and external regulations and standards.
  • Assists the CFO with production of monthly and annual financial statements prepared in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Assists with the preparation of federal and state reports per grant requirements.
  • Serves as the lead staff member to manage the HRSA EHB, including password resets, assists with entering, and filing of 330 grant and supplemental grant reports. Participates in EHB webinars and other training opportunities.
  • Assists the CFO and CIO with the annual production of the HRSA Uniform Data Set (UDS) report.
  • Prepares and provides monthly departmental financial reports as requested by Department Directors and other key management positions; prepares and maintains spreadsheets that track departmental specific financial and statistical data.
  • Assists the CFO with preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepares balance sheet reconciliations as requested by the CFO.
  • Prepares and provides financial modeling studies, forecasts, and reports for existing programs and
  • program development.
  • Responsible to prepare key financial information for the CFO for use in preparation of the mid-year
  • HRSA budget and the end-of-year final budget. Assists the CFO in the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Responsible to review departmental financial information; prepares briefing notes for the CFO, COO, and CEO to assist in their reviews of the departmental budget process.
  • Leads accounting processes related to state and federal reimbursable grant programs; prepares billing
  • (invoices) for these programs. Responsible to follow up through collection of amounts owed.
  • Assist the CFO with the preparation of numerous reports such as FFR, Medicare Cost Report, PPS reconciliation, base, and supplemental grant reports, etc.
  • Monitors the performance of the organization using financial statement data and reports, visit reports, quality reports, and other key operational data. Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the CFO.
  • Works with the COO and CIO to ensure financial policies are being adhered to in each respective clinic. Makes recommendations to CFO for any process improvement opportunities; maintains and trains employees in clinics as required. Assures proper and adequate financial controls are in place and being followed.
  • Reviews financial reports to determine trending and/or need for correction. Makes CFO aware of financial variances, talks with department directors and other key leadership about variances, makes recommendations on variance solutions or correction needs.
  • Performs other special projects as determined and/or needed by the CFO and CEO.
  • Represents administration/finance on various internal committees or task forces.
  • From time to time may travel to out-of-town workshops, conferences, and or meetings for education or to represent Sunset Health.
