The Watts Water Technologies family of companies designs and manufactures valves and drains and related products that promote the comfort and safety of people and the quality, conservation, and control of water used in commercial, residential, industrial, and municipal applications. The Materials Manager is responsible for managing the entire purchasing function to ensure seamless production of product and cost focused initiatives.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Direct the supervision of the Buyer/Planners.
  • Lead team to work in a safe manner at all times and comply with safety policies and standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials to the production floor, monitoring of usage and inventory levels of material and ensuring materials in inventory comply with regulatory mandates.
  • Support Lean initiatives to include implementing paperless/visual supply processes linking suppliers and Point-of-Use.
  • Creates and sustains measurement system for supplier performance.
  • Supervises the Buyer/Planner team.
  • Maintains knowledge of plant's processes, techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Additional projects as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years demonstrated experience in materials management within an industrial equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Lean principles of Kanban signals, daily deliveries, inventory at point-of-Use and Kaizen events.
  • Ability to travel
  • Project management skills
  • Strong management and leadership background to include coaching and facilitating
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

Salary Range: $100 - 125K, plus bonus

  • Noise level is minimal with intervals of spikes.
