Position Summary: Performs diagnostics testings and laboratory procedures in various specialty sections of the Clinical Laboratory that may include Molecular Lab in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assists supervisor in providing resource to improve and optimize operational efficiency. May have to perform supervisory duties as assigned. |

Experience: 1 -3 years experience working in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Lab Tech or Medical Technologist; 5-7 years experience working as a Clinical Laboratory Tech working in a moderate to high complexity testings environment and; has met or exceed the regulatory CLIA testing personnel requirements. |
Education: A Bachelors Degree or Associate in Science or related degree; Clinical Laboratory Assistanship training in lieu of AS degree |
Required License / Credentials: ASCP/ASMT/NCA/HHS/ASPT and other related certification preferred; Board-eligible for MLT or; Registered ASCP for others qualified under the grandfather clause of CLIA. |
Other Required Skills: Excellent customer service skills, computer, math, verbal, reasoning and written skills at college level. Requires instrumentation and manual skills which require practice to become proficient, routinely acquired during the training period. |
Contact With Others: Occasional external contacts, furnishing or obtaining information only. Contacts with other departments, furnishing or obtaining information or reports, requiring tact and discretion in order to obtain cooperation. |
Supervision Given: Part-time supervision over a small group of employees. Most of the time spent performing the same or similar work as members of the group. |
Supervision Received: Works under general supervision in performing routine assignments, referring unusual or more difficult situations to immediate supervisor. HOURS: Fulltime 80 hours per pay period EOE
