Computer Equipment Lab Tech

Onin Staffing is looking for a Computer Equipment Lab Technician in the Morrisville, NC area. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations within our lab by managing inventory, coordinating equipment calibration, and supporting system configurations.

• 1st shift - Monday to Friday.
• Pay rate: $25.00-28.00/hr Depending on Experience.
• Contract.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee shipping, receiving, and inventory of parts and equipment.
• Coordinate calibration of test equipment and order lab supplies as needed.
• Perform system configuration, firmware updates, and manage test setups.
• Conduct precision soldering and SMD component rework when required.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for efficient lab operations.
• Ensure adherence to lab ESD and export control classification best practices.
• Maintain organized records in lab inventory systems (e.g., Snipe-IT) and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).

Basic Requirements:

• Associate’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Fundamental understanding of PC, storage, network, GPU architecture, and I/O.
• Proficient with lab equipment (e.g., DMM, power supplies, oscilloscopes).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move packages up to 40 lbs.
