Position Summary For Material Handler 1 (Picking/Selecting & Checking/Quality Control) : Material Handler 1 is responsible for picking, selecting, checking and ensuring the accurate transportation of materials, stock, merchandise, supplies, and other finished products to designated locations including preparation for shipment. In general Material Handlers are broken into two groups Checking & Quality Control and Selecting & Picking materials. These materials will include hazardous and non-hazardous materials within the warehouse.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: At one (1) year of working experience
- Operating Electric Riding Pallet Jacks
- Operating Electric Forklifts and Stand-Up Reach Trucks
- RF Scanning

Responsibilities For Material Handler 1 (Picking/Selecting & Checking/Quality Control) :
Specific Responsibilities for Checking and Ensuing quality:
- Examine any articles for defects, ensuring customers do not receive defective equipment, and timely reporting to supervisors
- Occasionally assist unload and unpack incoming and out going shipments
- Conduct quality checks to ensure there are no damaged goods being sent to customers
- Select products for customer orders from the warehouse stock locations
- Assist with transport orders to the correct docking area, and loading of transfer crates
- Assist with transporting and loading of stock, merchandise, supplies, and other materials
- Provide quality assurance for all products, ensuring items properly identified, and are free from defect
- Receive, distribute, store, transport, and load products and materials (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids) in designated, secure locations.
- Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed per standard operating procedures
- Keep warehouse clean/organized by collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Update account of stock and inventory records as necessary per standard operating procedure and in partnership with the Inventory Control Department
- Verifying accuracy of quantity and quality of deliveries, provide quality assurance for all products
- Communicate with supervisor regarding times and ensuring that deadlines are met
- When problems arise, escalate to supervisor to resolve issues with contractors or vendors.
- Work with various team members, departments and supervisors to identify and engage in opportunities for increased efficiency
- Performs other related duties, including clerical as assigned
- Engage in all safety standard operating procedures
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: At one (1) year of working experience
- Operating Electric Riding Pallet Jacks
- Operating Electric Forklifts and Stand-Up Reach Trucks
- RF Scanning
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Physical stamina and attention to detail
- Experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift
- Organized and ability to work with team members
- Proficient math skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Efficient time management skills
- License in operating electric pallet jack or forklift (preferred)
- Working in a warehouse setting
- Be able to work with heavy machinery
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, 100 pounds with the help
- Stand, walk, and handle products for prolonged periods, intense physical exertion
- Availability on weekdays; morning or afternoon shifts
- Hazardous conditions may arise
- Must wear safety gear when handling tools
