Job Description
The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems, DC Electrical systems. The I&E Technician performs work in the inspection, calibration, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal of electronic and DC electrical equipment and systems. This position will require occasional weekend and night call-out or holiday work on a rotating basis. The I&E Technician must work well both independently as well as in a team environment. The individual must possess critical thinking skills and must be able to troubleshoot issues associated with the I&E equipment in the field. Needs to be self-driven and service oriented.

Job Description
The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems, DC Electrical systems. Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic instruments and systems
- Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair instrumentation i.e., control valves, switches, relays, etc.
- Inspect, repair, replace switches, control equipment, wiring, and DC electrical systems and components
- Work with a wide variety of instruments to include tank sticks, Solenoids, I/Ps, Burner Management systems, guided wave radar, Coriolis Meters, vortex meters, pressure transducers, RTDs, etc
- Maintain files, logs and drawings for instrumentation and DC electrical equipment
- Maintain instrumentation and electrical spare parts truck inventory to maintain efficiency
- Understand Piping and Instrument Diagrams, Signal Flow Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Panel Drawings
- Perform all duties in manner consistent with environmental, health and safety policies
- Programming RTU's
- Learn and execute proper safety precautions, particularly when working on or near energized circuits and with hazardous chemicals as well as when working from heights
- Proficiently operate a computer (commonly using programs: email, excel, Microsoft Word, Scada Interfaces) as well as many proprietary software programs in accordance with job duties
- Strong aptitude for troubleshooting/problem solving
- Knowledge of basic circuit types
- Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E and API 500
- Knowledge of test equipment and its safe use
- Ability to perform on the job training
- Ability to provide timely response to operational needs, while maintaining quality of work
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to implement new technologies and think outside of the box
- Ability to possess a valid driver's license
- Must be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Able to react to potentially dangerous situations quickly and appropriately
- Able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, have visual acuity, hearing and speaking
- Able to climb 25-foot-high ladders and stairwells
- Able to work in hot and cold weather
- Must be capable of working at elevated work areas including from manlift and ladders.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Two plus years of noninterrupted experience in I&E or similar trade.
- Must be able to respond in a timely manner to task at hand when on-call. Available for 24-hour standby and emergency response.
- Must participate as needed in working overtime on evenings and weekends.
- Ability to perform essential duties in an environment that entails a variety of weather conditions.
