Summary: Huda Beauty is looking for a collaborative, process driven and proactive Senior People Manager for our New York office. This role will lead the day-to-day People Operations for our U.S. team, in close partnership with our global P+C (People + Culture) team and US leadership team. This role will oversee many initiatives related to compliance, HRIS administration, employee on-boarding/exiting, payroll and performance management in line with our global practices and policies. This role will report to the General Manager Americas with a dotted line to Global P&C.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with our global P+C team and NYC based senior leadership to lead all aspects of people operations.
  • Deliver a thorough employee on-boarding and off-boarding experience in partnership with our global P+C and IT teams.
  • Manage employee files, ensuring any necessary documentation needed for local compliance is filed and accessible.
  • Complete payroll in accordance with payroll schedule, through our online payroll software and benefits system (Gusto).
  • Suggest and develop competitive compensation and benefit strategies in line with the market and HQ requirements/budget.
  • Coordinate with our Talent team to ensure an exceptional U.S. candidate experience.
  • Oversee recruitment and staffing strategies to ensure the organization attracts and retain talents.
  • Be the main point of contact for our third-party payroll and benefits administrator, manage and monitor 401(k) plans.
  • Provide regional alignment for annual P&C projects, such as open enrollment, performance reviews, employee surveys, etc.
  • Provide regional HR support, for example - employee relations, learning and development, risk management and legal compliance.
  • Provide regional Internal Communications support, for example - create and send monthly business-related newsletter on global HR updates recapping People & Culture emails, updates on new projects or employee engagement initiatives, celebrating team members etc.
  • Respond to HR inquiries about holidays/general PTO/benefits/401K etc and create a formal feedback process for employees to give HR feedback.
  • Help create, define and continuously improve office policies for the U.S.
  • Provide on-hand support for HR software, for example Bamboo our performance management tool.
  • Work closely with wider P+C team to identify trends in both qualitative and quantitative data from various surveys to continuously drive organizational health, enabling smart and informed decisions to be made.
  • Foster a positive inclusive workplace by promoting open communication and strong sense of belonging.
  • Work closely with finance team to understand people costs and HR budget where necessary, ensuring optimal ways of working.
  • Work hand in hand with the GM Americas and the global P&C team to establish a culture of performance, collaboration and creativity within the New York office.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive HR or People Ops experience in a fast paced start-up/scale-up environment.
  • Must have working knowledge of federal and State (primarily New York City) employment laws and regulations (ADA, EEO, FMLA, FLSA) and the ability to appropriately spot employment risk issues.
  • Strong ability to interact comfortably with employees at every level of the organization, experience working with senior leadership highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with the highest level of discretion at all times.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, tight timelines, and multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment, and high level of comfort working autonomously.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including proactive communication about progress toward goals and expected results.
  • Preferably has an experience in transition or transformational process.
