Director Sterile Processing - Full Time Days/LGH & VBH

Job Description
Responsible for the Sterile Processing operations at Lynchburg General Hospital and Virginia Baptist Hospital. Manages the departmental budget, direct reports including supervisors and managers. Responsible for departmental regulatory compliance using AAMI, AORN, and IAHCSMM Standards.
Responsibilities
Facilitates, coordinates and delegates the processing and delivery of sterile instruments and equipment
Serves as Centra's SME on committees or task forces in support of DR / BC
Maintains departmental policies keeping them current with Standards, practice and processes
Consistently follows the National Standards and Recommended Practice for Sterilization, and for the acquisition, development, and utilization of resources (human and material) needed to fulfill those responsibilities
Works cooperatively with administrators, physicians, staff, other managers and all customers of the Centra Healthcare System
Develops and implements strategies to provide the highest level of quality, safety and service within the organization
Deliver services, which consistently meet and exceed the expectations of their customers
Required to effectively manage budgets and inventory which includes instrumentation, equipment and supplies
Cultivates positive relationships with Leadership staff and Vendors within the Centra organization
Collaborates with Infection Prevention, Nursing Leadership and Physician Leadership teams
Provides strategies, leadership and guidance to recruiting team and leaders in the department
Focuses on staff and team engagement
Promotes a capable staff that provides services to maintain and continuously improve productivity and seek opportunities to decrease costs
May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Management or a related field
Preferred Education: Masters Degree in Healthcare Management or related field
Required Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of Sterile Processing experience. Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management, Six Sigma, Organizational Behavior, and Change Management
Preferred Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of sterile processing management experience
Required Certifications and Licensures: IAHCSMM CRCST Certification within one (1) year of hire
Preferred Certifications and Licensures: CIS, CHL Certification. Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
