SMX is looking for a highly motivated Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with demonstrated experience to support the development phase of a project relative to software supporting aircraft and weapons systems. This position will provide onsite support at Patuxent River NAS in southern Maryland.

As the Information Systems Security Officer, you will join a team of highly driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting across the NAVAIR community.

Primary responsibilities for the Information Systems Security Officer include:
  • Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information systems
  • Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure
  • Respond to computer security breaches and viruses
  • Provide maintenance and creation of Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation packages

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Clearance required: Secret
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
    • An associate's and 4 additional years of experience, or 6 additional years may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in Information Assurance related field
  • Thorough knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls/Risk Management Framework (RMF) Accreditation (assessment and authorization) Process
  • Security + or equivalent DOD INST 8570 compliant certification required

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)
  • Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), Evaluate-STIG, and eMASSter
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations

The proposed salary for this position is:

$95,000-$142,500 USD
