This position will oversee a spectrum of operational domains including construction contract administration, quality control, estimating, field inspection, cost and schedule management, change management, and personnel supervision. The ideal candidate will possess strong affiliations with TxDOT and various local transportation agencies. We are considering candidates for our Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, or Lubbock offices.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as Project Manager on TxDOT CEI contracts requiring intergroup skills and subconsultants close client coordination.
  • Direct and supervise engineers, inspection staff, record keepers, etc., assigned to projects. Coordinate assigned work to ensure continuity, consistency, and quality.
  • Resolve project matters for solutions and recommendations for the client.
  • Determine and maintain an established schedule.
  • Evaluate and analyze project decisions to ensure objectivity, soundness of design, and impact of those decisions on schedule, budget, and needs.
  • Be the lead PM to pursue and win TxDOT CEI contracts.
  • Serve as Technical Lead on proposals.
  • Develop relationships with TxDOT and other transportation agencies in support of CEI.
  • Develop relationships, teaming strategies, and work with other DOT-focused FNI staff across the company.
  • Remain up to date on existing and pending regulations and related technological advancements.
  • Participate in the administration, interpretation, and implementation of contracts.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer Registered in Texas or ability to acquire in Texas within 6 months
  • 10+ years of experience that includes at least 5 years on TxDOT construction projects.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with TxDOT CEI processes and procurement
  • Proficient in performing constructability reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods.
  • Must be familiar with TxDOT Specifications and Standards.
  • Capable of effectively leading and managing diverse teams and personnel on complex projects or tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate should be able to express ideas clearly and concisely in written documents, emails, and reports. Additionally, they should be adept at articulating thoughts and information verbally, whether in team meetings, presentations, or client interactions.
