Software Engineer (ServiceNow)

The Swift Group is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a technology-based program supporting a key government customer. This program will deliver engineering services for network infrastructure as well as sophisticated enterprise computing infrastructure including end-point devices, data center hosted servers, multi-Cloud services as well as virtualized applications, and storage systems. Enterprise Computing Engineering services include modern application technology including containerized solutions with orchestrated workflow that function both on customer premise, and via remote Cloud services. Network infrastructure engineering services are comprised of core infrastructure, voice and video engineering, field engineering, application management and development for networks, network analytics, firewalls, network access controls and bandwidth service delivery. This is a fast paced, challenging, and career rewarding experience to provide solutions on one of the most complex and high profile programs within the government.

This position is located in the Dulles, VA area.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of thirteen (13) years relevant experience with Bachelor's or Master's degrees
  • Experience with deploying, updating, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure platforms such as EC2, ELB, S3, EBS RDS and KMS
  • Ability to write, update, and deploy Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Cloudformation, CDK or Terraform
  • Experience with AWS Lambda or other equivalent serverless technology for developing and managing scalable platforms
  • Proficient in GIT for version control and collaborative software development
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD methodologies
  • Ability to write scripts in JavaScript, Bash, and Python for automation and software development tasks
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and principles
  • Database Administration (Oracle, MYSQL, MariaDB or Postgres) experience
  • Should work toward achieving ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) cert while on task
  • Ability to efficiently and appropriately estimate work effort requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to adapt to a constantly changing environment
  • Aptitude and willingness to work with variety of newer emerging technologies/tools as opportunities demand
  • Ability to deliver enhanced functionality, aid with new implementations, and provide continuous support within the scheduled time while preserving system integrity
  • High degree of initiative, creativity, and technical ability to function on this team
  • Ability to identify issues and implement corrective actions
  • BA/BS Degree or five additional years' experience in lieu of a degree
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow Development Platform including, but not limited to, ITSM, ITOM, CMDB and Discovery
  • Experience with developing and maintaining enterprise container solutions such as Kubernetes
  • Database Administration (Oracle, MYSQL, MariaDB or Postgres) experience
  • AWS Cloud certification
