LMI is seeking a skilled Senior Consultant with experience with air-launched weapons system to support our DoD client onsite in Arlington, VA. The position requires providing a broad range of support focused on mission engineering, acquisition, high-level engagement, and oversight support for air platforms and weapons. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting and support client meetings and related engagements. The candidate will support the EW AW IC and OUSD(R&E) office with high level products to guide coordinated and streamlined messaging for air platforms and weapons acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise to the air-launched weapons portfolio, working with the portfolio lead.
  • Analyze mission impact of investments across the air-launched weapons portfolio in support of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) and Joint Capability Integration and Development System processes.
  • In support of the air-launched weapons Integrated Acquisition Portfolio Reviews (IAPRs), research and integrate capability, budget, PPBE, acquisition, requirements,system integration, and Science & Technology information into a cohesive assessment of acquisition portfolio health.
  • Coordinate with IAPR stakeholders across Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Staff (JS), and Services
  • Develop new and efficient processes for air-launched weapons IAPR execution and data presentation
  • Work with A&S Industrial Policy to research OSD, USG, and worldwide weapons industrial base health and lessons learned that can improve the performance of the DoD air-launched weapons portfolio.
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct In-Process Review and Defense Acquisition Board meetings, as well as related build-up meetings and activities, working with stakeholders across OSD, JS, and Services.
  • Serve as a SME and key APW representative in the DoD effort to revamp the Munitions Requirements Process (MRP); coordinate with JS, OSD, Service, and other stakeholders to define metrics and identify data required to improve the reliability and robustness of the MRP calculations.
  • Author and present briefs and point papers about complex engineering and/or programmatic topics to leadership and budget personnel.
  • Identify new and assess existing acquisition strategies.
  • Assess risk in acquisition approach, budget profile, and other acquisition planning and execution documentation.
  • Analyzes trends, policies, and actions at Congress, OSD, OMB, Service headquarters, and other DoD agencies for effect upon the air-launched weapons portfolio.


Qualifications

  • Requires Top Secret (SCI Eligible) Security Clearance
  • Requires an BA/BS in any field
  • Requires 2+ years experience communicating with senior leaders within the DoD
  • Requires 2+ years of DoD acquisition program support
  • Requires 2+ years of air warfare subject matter expertise including knowledge and experienece with DoD air warfare technology, air warfare systems engineering, and air warfare operational capabilities
  • Experience with air launched weapons systems.
  • Additional desired qualifications:
    • DAWIA certification in PM, Contracting or Sys Eng
    • Strong oral/written communications and presentation skills to review and implement policies.
    • Experience conducting critical qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
    • Command of MS Office suite tools to produce superior executive level briefing and communications materials.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Experience serving on a Service acquisition headquarters or program office within DoD.

Targeted Salary Range: $109,000-$180,000
