Leidos is seeking a Cable Assembly Lab Section Manager to join a diverse team that supports production of Cable Assemblies. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
Candidate will be responsible for leadership of the technician team that manufactures electrical cable assemblies. The type of cables to be built changes from week to week and are cables which require various connectors and processes. (Micro-D connectors, circular connectors, soldering, potting, cable braiding, mechanical assembly, etc). This position will lead the team of IPC-620 certified technicians that work on a variety of products to include military, space, and commercial customers.
Primary Responsibilities
This position will have day to day management responsibilities for Safety, Quality Delivery, Cost and Moral goals of cable assembly operations. Candidate will work with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians to develop a build strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly.

Pay Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Applicants must have strong experience working with teams.
- Experience leading a team as direct manager or team lead.
- Ability to multi-task and meet multiple objectives over similar time periods.
- Candidates will be required to have knowledge of the tools used for assembly (crimpers, strippers, insertion) and the proper techniques required to use these tools. Basic experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation will be required.
- Candidate will be required to have basic computer skills associated with these assembly tasks (such as retrieving the manufacturing documentation from the system, updating the system as router steps are completed, communication via email, Excel spreadsheets, etc.).
- Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are a plus:
Current or prior certification to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 (space addendum a plus)
- Provide cost and delivery inputs for cable assembly build quotes.
- Communicate with customers to provide updates on both schedule and cost.
- Deltek Costpoint software experience.
- Solumina software experience.
- ESD procedures.
- Current or prior certification to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 (space addendum a plus).
- Working knowledge of Cable Eye High Voltage tester and designing test layouts.
- Knowledge of assembly and inspection requirements for Micro-D solder cups in cable assemblies.
